Permaculture: A Quiet Revolution

Take your Land Back. Take your Health Back. Do it without a vote. Do it without asking.

I have a lot of love for renters. I know this whole permaculture thing can feel like it's only for land owners and with the housing prices as they are and wages as they are, permaculture feels just as out of reach.

We can outsmart the system. Together.

I have a dream to start a Telegram chat for Guerrilla Gardening and foraging spots. When you're out walking your dog, skateboarding to work, or practicing your graffiti, bring nature with you. Spread native seeds that require zero effort but yield powerful medicine. Bring yarrow, echinacea, valerian, chamomile, dandelion and holy basil.

This is very important so please absorb... You do not need to be self-sufficient in everything. Just be self-sufficient in something. Then you can trade. You don't have to do this alone. That is not The Way. Don't put that pressure on yourself.

This is how you invest in your future. This is an investment in your health, your finances, and your community.

Elderberry & Pawpaw - plant near creeks.

Fruit trees - plant on the edge of wooded areas.

Vines - plant on fences and under trees.

Blackberry is a bramble and great for protective barriers.

Beautyberry - plant in dappled light - under mature trees.

Mushrooms - inoculate fallen logs in shady moist areas.

I know it feels weird to plant something and leave it but this is how we invest in each other.

You're going to have to pay for your health now or later. If you invest in yourself now, you can potentially avoid a whole host of health problems. This is how we take control of our destiny. Connecting with the power of herbs and mushrooms. Food. Is. Medicine.

I know it feels like a lot to learn but as we work to heal the Earth, we are healed by the Earth. There is true magic in being in Nature. All that stress and anxiety starts to melt away. Depression clouds break open and the sun beings to shine through. Suddenly you have purpose. You are more than a cog in a machine. You're a beautiful keystone species. You deserve peace and abundance.

This journey doesn't need to be expensive either. If you don't have a ton of money, you just have to get thrifty. (Honestly, materialism isn't The Way anyway. We should all be thrifty.) Any container with a hole at the bottom can grow food. You can purchase one potato at the store and grow 12 more. Same with ginger and turmeric. You can learn the art of propagating and seed saving and turn one tree into MANY just by sticking a cutting in some water. One squash has the potential to produce dozens more. Have you seen how many seeds a watermelon has?! You get the point. These are essential survival skills that our ancestors had.

In the Trail of Tears, Native peoples would sew seeds into their clothes because they knew their power. This was how they survived.

Existence in this Late Stage Capitalism System is too damn hard. Starting this journey can help you LONG-TERM.

Use your Social Media for Betterment. Learn these survival skills:

  • PROPAGATING TREES

  • FORAGING

  • DRYING HERBS

  • SAVING SEEDS

  • INNOCULATING LOGS FOR MUSHROOMS

If you want to control people, control their food source.

Killing the buffalo wasn't the only thing the colonizers did. They cut down food forests that the indigenous peoples had managed for thousands of years. They protected their future generations instead of robbing from them. It's time to take our land back. Not with a vote or raising funds or canvasing. We do it quietly. We plant FOOD. We learn the ways of our ancestors. We respect the land. We take care of her and she takes care of us. We take back our trust in governments and corporations and give it to each other.

We are nature protecting herself.

This is how we become free. One step at a time, without permission.

A Quiet Revolution.

All my love,

Cynthia

Great idea! I'm thinking native plant seeds made into seed bombs that can be tossed around the city.
